GIWEH has been a member of the Swiss Water Partnership since 2012. Most recently, the annual General Assembly of the Swiss Water Partnership was held on May 18th, 2016 at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL). GIWEH is an active member of the SWP, and was re-elected in 2015 to its second term on the Steering Board, to run through 2018. The Swiss Water Partnership provides a forum for GIWEH to collaborate and exchange information with other water-related NGOs working in Switzerland, and helps to fortify GIWEH’s network. Through the SWP, GIWEH participates in the Swiss Booth at the tri-annual World Water Forum, various panels and round-table discussions on water solutions, and thematic events tackling water-related challenges.

Specifically, GIWEH is active in the SWP’s partnership with the World Bank, which focuses on groundwater and monitoring. Also in relation to the SWP, GIWEH promotes capacity building by orchestrating groups of scientists to provide trainings on the 2030 Agenda’s Water Goal on regional and local scales. Throughout its work, GIWEH supports the transfer of Swiss technology to other parts of the world.
