Four Rivers Restoration Project

The Four Rivers Restoration Project was initiated through the Republic of Korea’s National Strategy for Green Growth stimulus package (see Green Growth program for more details). The project dedicated US$17.3 billion to the restoration of Korea’s four main rivers (Han, Nakdong, Geum and Yeongsan). Targets of the project included securing water resources, mitigating flooding, enhancing water quality, protecting river-basin ecosystems, and promoting agricultural development. GIWEH was a consultant for the project, advising on important policy objectives and implementation strategies.

More comprehensive information on the Four Rivers Restoration Project can be found here, specifically on pages 33-35.
