8th Meeting of the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI)

On 12-13th January, GIWEH will be pleased to participate to the 8th Meeting of the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI) in Rabat, Morocco.

The OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI) is an international multi-stakeholder network of 100+ delegates from public, private and not-for-profit sectors gathering twice a year in a Policy Forum to share experience on reforms, projects, lessons and good practices in support of better governance in the water sector.

GIWEH joined the WGI in 2013 shortly after the initiative was launched. GIWEH is also part of the Two Working Groups, on Best Practices and Indicators, which contributes to the initiative activities, especially supporting the implementation of the WGI Principles.

The 8th WGI will have for objectives to update and consult WGI’s members on internal changes, on progress on the indicators and best practices working groups. It will also be the occasion to discuss WGI’s contribution to the Global Agenda, especially Habitat III, COP 22 & World Water Forum as well as to share knowledge and experience between members.
