Organized by VACI (Vietnam wAter Cooperation Initiative) from the 4th to the 7th of March 2018 in Hanoi, the Vietnam International Water Week aimed to act as a global platform for the sharing and co-creation of innovative water solutions, with a particular emphasis on tropical water issues. Bringing together governmental, public and private sector actors from across the entire water value chain, the goal is to encourage creative collaboration and cross-sector partnerships in order to create local and regional business opportunities in the water sector.
Dr. Nidal Salim, Director General of GIWEH, was invited as a keynote speaker and Citizen Process Representative.
Other speakers include Mr. Lars Ronnas, the Swedish Ambassador for Climate Change, Mr. Jake Brunner, Country Director for the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Mr. Ferdinand Dela Cruz, President and CEO of Manila Water, Dr. Adichat Surinkum, Director of the CCOP Technical Secretariat, Dr. Marcel Marchand of Deltares, Netherlands, Mr. Patrick Lavarde, President of International Water Resources Association, Dr. Haksoo Lee, Chairman of Asia Water Council and Asia International Water Week, Mr. Kamal Malhotra, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, Deputy-Director of Viet Nam National Mekong Committee, Mr. Thomas Panella, the Water Sector Advisor for the Asian Development Bank, and Mr. Karoly Kovacs, President of the Hungarian Water Cluster and the European Water Association (EWA).
