United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, 26-28 November 2018, Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland (OHCHR)
GIWEH served as a representative of the non-profit sector during the 7th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva. It took place between the 26th and the 28th of November, 2018, on the central theme of "Business respect for human rights – building on what works". This UN Forum was the world's largest annual gathering on business and human rights, counting more than 2,500 delegates from government, business, community groups and civil society, law firms, investor organizations, UN bodies, national human rights institutions, trade unions, academia and the media.
Over three days, participants took part in 60+ panel discussions on topics that relate to the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (the United Nations "Protect, Respect and Remedy" Framework), as well as current business-related human rights issues and the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
