As a member of the World Water Council (WWC), GIWEH participated at the 53rd meeting of the World Water Council Board of Governors from 28-29 October 2014 in Marseilles, France.

WWC President Benedito Braga welcomed 120 participants and emphasized in his opening address the importance of continuing to involve Council members in the implementation of its strategy in an open and transparent way.

WWC members were invited to attend the meeting and participate in roundtable discussions on major issues for 2015: The 7th World Water Forum, Climate Change in view of CoP21 in Paris, and the post-2015 development agenda.

The Board meeting facilitated rich exchanges on a great number of subjects that GIWEH participated in, including the emergence of a dedicated water goal in the post-2015 development agenda and the upcoming events at the 7th World Water Forum in April 2015.
