Do we know how many gallons of water we use in making cloths or growing food? People use lots of water for drinking, cooking and washing but even more is used for growing food and for making our clothing, cars or computers.
On individual level, water footprints refers to the amount of water we use throughout the day for our personal use. Globally, the water footprint measures the amount of water used to produce each of the goods and services we use. This particular topic holds great importance since the increase in population means increase in the use of water by people and for industries. Therefore, water footprint has become a prominent feature of Post – 2015 Agenda for water security.
